Speed networking - redux

On 21st May, we revived our speed networking event due to popular demand! Billed as a networking event for people who hate networking, the aim of this annual event is to provide our members with the tools to make networking feel honest and compelling.

Over 30 women working in the wine industry joined us at the Charles Taylor Wines office for this social and informative evening.

After a short discussion on ‘perfecting your elevator pitch’ (the 20 second professional intro to yourself), we peeled off into randomly generated groups of four to practice our pitch and iron out all the 'erms', 'ahs' and 'hmmms' we so often splutter while struggling to think of a concise way to highlight our work experience and skills. As each member of WIW LDN had the opportunity to share their elevator pitch with nine other women in this ‘round robin’ format, the energy and enthusiasm were palpable throughout the night.

A big thank you to Charles Taylor Wines (http://www.charlestaylorwines.com/) for their support for Women in Wine LDN and hosting our event at their lovely offices -  it is the support from the industry that makes these events possible - and to Poppy de Courcy-Wheeler (Sales Manager, Charles Taylor) for helping to organise the evening.

We enjoyed some wines of Charles Taylor’s extensive list including:

2018 Cotes du Rhone Domaine Lafond Roc-Epine

2016 Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Nuits, Nuiton-Beaunoy

2018 Gros-Manseng & Sauvignon, Domaine Horgelus

2017 Petit Chablis, Domaine Seguinot-Bordet
