Our Story
We wanted to meet peers, discuss career aspirations and gain insights about the industry we work in.
The business of wine is long established in London and has fostered a diverse scene of on-trade, off-trade, hospitality and wine production expertise. That being said, there are few opportunities to meet peers and discuss wine industry developments in the city. So in October 2015, over a glass of Riesling on the South Bank of the River Thames, Women in Wine LDN was formed.
As the number of women working in the wine industry continues to grow, we needed a group that represented our career aspirations and working experiences. We took inspiration from existing groups in wine and hospitality as well as business, arts and digital to build an organisation we are proud to be a part of and promote. We are increasingly humbled by the growth of the group in such a short period of time and continue to be inspired by the women we meet.

Martha Brown she/her
@marthasvineyarduk
Martha is a Marketing Co-ordinator at Liberty Wines. She started out slinging bottles at Vagabond before going on to run their events in three venues. She has worked through WSET and Wine Scholar Guild qualifications, falling in love with New Zealand wine along the way. Martha previously worked with Regine, Sula and Hannah on their No / Low alcohol event, an area she is eager to develop. A keen environmentalist, she aims to bring more awareness of sustainable practices to the trade. Most recently, she has been selected for the Harpers Wine & Spirits 30 Under 30. When she's not posting on Instagram about a new kiwi pinot noir discovery, she's probably posting about her dog and her cat.
Róisín Kennedy DipWSET she/her
@roisin_wining
Róisín (AKA Rosie) is a WSET certified Educator working with Liberty Wines. She teaches WSET 1-2 and bespoke training courses to their on- and off-trade accounts as well as coordinating internal employee wine training schemes. She hails from Dublin and started out in hospitality. This route to wine via restaurants and bars fostered a desire to ensure everyone in hospitality has an opportunity like she had to understand the wines they’re selling and develop their careers. She is a passionate advocate for queer and trans rights. She loves to host, to be by the river or any body of water, and to be unbearable on Instagram about her and her partner’s sourdough baking.
