London has a long established wine trade with a growing scene of distributors, merchants, producers, hospitality professionals, PRs, press and more. It’s an exciting and fast paced industry, more so now than ever. That being said, there were few opportunities to meet peers and discuss industry developments. So in October 2015, over a glass of Riesling on the South Bank of the River Thames, Women in Wine LDN was formed by Regine Lee, Hannah van Susteren and Sula Richardson.
3 babies, one dog and countless promotions later, in 2023 Regine, Sula and Hannah decided it was time to pass on the leadership to a new generation of wine industry professionals. So, amongst countless bottles of fizzy wine and a load of fried chicken later, Women in Wine LDN was relaunched, with Anjali Douglas, Martha Brown and Róisín Kennedy now leading the organisation. You can find out more about the six of us below.
Leadership Team
Anjali Douglas DipWSET (she/her)
@anjalidouglaswine
Anjali is a Wine Educator and Events Manager for WSET School London. She currently teaches Level 1-3 in Wine at the school. As Events Manager, she oversees a programme of 100 annual consumer events, from introductory tastings to advanced masterclasses. She is the recipient of the prestigious Dom Pérignon Golden Vines Scholarship and is a current S2 MW student. Prior to her work in wine she worked in diversity and inclusion for museums, galleries and festivals and aims to bring better inclusivity to the wine trade in as many ways as she can.
Martha Brown FWS (she/her)
@marthasvineyarduk
Martha is a Marketing Coordinator at Liberty Wines. She started out slinging bottles at Vagabond before going on to run their events in three venues. She has worked through WSET and Wine Scholar Guild qualifications, falling in love with New Zealand wine along the way. Martha previously worked with Regine, Sula and Hannah on their No / Low alcoholic event, an area she is eager to develop. A keen environmentalist, she aims to bring more awareness of sustainable practices to the trade. In 2023 she was selected for the Harpers Wine and Spirits 30 Under 30. When she’s not posting on Instagram about a new Kiwi pinot noir discovery, she’s probably posting about her cat.
Róisín Kennedy DipWSET (she/her)
@roisin_wining
Róisín (AKA Rosie) is Liberty Wines’ WSET certified Senior Educator. She teaches WSET and bespoke training courses to their on- and off-trade accounts and coordinates internal employee wine training. Hailing from Ireland, she started working in Dublin’s vibrant restaurant scene while getting her degree in History and Politics at Trinity College. This route to wine fostered a desire to ensure everyone in hospitality has an opportunity like she had to understand the wines they’re pouring and develop their careers. She is a passionate advocate for queer and trans rights. She loves to host, to walk by the river or any body of water, and to be unbearable on Instagram about her and her wife’s sourdough baking.
